Jimmie earned a Bachelor in Music Education (1990) and a Masters in Music Education (2012) from Texas Tech University. He has taught in (new system) C, CC, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A in Texas.

Jimmie Exline is a husband, father, band director, drill writer, and consultant. His bands, in all classifications, have consistently earned Texas' University Interscholastic League's Sweepstakes Awards. Jimmie also has the heart of a servant. His past service includes: Area West Coordinator of ATSSB; Region 16 Band Division Chair; UIL Concert Host, UIL Sight-Reading Committee Member; and numerous positions as Region Band organizer, host, and clinician. He also actively serves as a UIL Concert Band Judge and Region Band Clinician.
Mr. Exline's bands have performed at UIL State Wind Ensemble Festival, UIL State Marching Contest, and have been selected to the state contests in ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series and TMEA Honor Band. Students have earned All-State Honors in both ATSSB and TMEA along with Outstanding Performances at State Wind Ensemble Festival and State Solo and Ensemble Competitions. Needless to say, he has been blessed by great students throughout his career.
